RONKE ASHAYE


Ibironke Ashaye is an articulate museum specialist who has contributed immensely to the development of museums in Nigeria especially in the area of exhibition and documentation of Nigeria cultural collections. The former Chairperson, Committee on Inventory of Collections in the National Commission for Museums and Monuments Nigeria has had her impact felt as a member of the Committee on the establishment of the National War museum Umuahia, member of the Planning Committee on Kwara State World Decade for Cultural Development, member of the Planning Committee on Ogori-magongo festival, Kogi State, member of the Committee on the “Means of Preventing and Prohibiting the Looting of Cultural Properties in Nigeria”, and member of the Investigating Committee on the Theft of Antiquities at the National Museum Kaduna, among others.

Ibironke Ashaye currently holds the pivotal position as Curator, National Museum Lagos.
